We’re Phoenix locals who love discovering vegan spots, and Dark Hall Coffee was no exception. After brunch at The Coronado, we wandered over for coffee and pastries — and we’re so glad we did. Here’s our Dark Hall Coffee review.

Dark Hall shares a building with The Coronado PHX, a vegan restaurant, so you can easily make it a two-in-one stop for brunch and coffee. Both are owned by the same folks, and both are worth visiting.

What’s on the Menu?

The menu at Dark Hall Coffee is entirely vegan. Expect rich espresso drinks, house brews, teas, and seasonal creations. They make their own syrups — lavender, vanilla, caramel, and more.

Plant milks are the default, with oat milk being a favorite for its creaminess. I tried their Brown Sugar Lemonade (yes, coffee lemonade!) and it was surprisingly refreshing.

Dark Hall Coffee drinks and pastries

Their pastries rotate daily. One visit, you might find lavender shortbread or cashew-based desserts; another day, macarons or seasonal fruit bars. Everything is plant-based and made in-house.

Ambiance & Vibe

With its gothic-inspired, all-black interior and striking murals, Dark Hall Coffee stands out. It might look dark and moody, but the staff are friendly, and the vibe is cozy once you settle in.

Seating is limited, so it’s perfect for a quick coffee stop, but don’t expect a full café setup. When we visited, outdoor seating was under construction — something to look forward to!

Our Favorites at Dark Hall Coffee

  • Brown Sugar Lemonade (unique and refreshing)
  • Lavender shortbread (when available)
  • Classic oat milk latte with house-made caramel

If you’re a coffee purist, go for their straight espresso — it’s smooth, bold, and well-balanced.
