Who I am.

Hi, I’m DJ. I’m a vegan local guide, a proud Level 5 Google Local Guide, Jesus-loving wife-moma (and popcorn-snacking, plant-based lover!).

I started this blog very part-time (like, whenever-I-get-a-chance part-time), launching VeganYum23 in 2023 as a joyful outlet to share our family’s favorite vegan finds.


My husband and I have lived in eight different states, visited ten countries, and—fun fact we were married on a cruise ship. Now we’re settled in Phoenix, Arizona, and still travel (mostly local staycations) with our kids.

We review restaurants, search out vegan-friendly hotels, and plan family adventures whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a longer trip.
