With spacious grounds, fun attractions, and family-friendly amenities, it’s a great place to spend a day out with the kiddos – especially toddlers!

Park Overview and Location

Freestone Park is situated at 1045 E Juniper Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85234, located just off Lindsay Road and Guadalupe Road.

It spans over 88 acres, making it the largest park in Gilbert, with plenty of space for all sorts of outdoor activities. Whether you’re planning a day of sports, a casual picnic, or just some leisurely strolling, and birthday party this park has it all. It’s huge

The park is packed with amenities that cater to different interests. Here’s what you can expect:

Playgrounds: Multiple play structures with slides, swings, and climbing areas make it perfect for kids of all ages.

Freestone Railroad: Though it wasn’t open during our visit, the mini amusement park includes a small train, Ferris wheel, and other carnival rides. The train ride is especially popular and takes kids on a loop around part of the park.

Sports Facilities: The park has lighted tennis and basketball courts, as well as several soccer and softball fields. There’s also a pickleball court for those who enjoy this growing sport.

Skate Park: An on-site skate park offers space for skaters and BMX bikers to practice tricks.

Picnic Areas and Ramadas: Plenty of shaded picnic areas, barbecue grills, and ramadas are available for rent for hosting a family gathering or birthday party.

Walking Trails: Several paved paths wind through the park, perfect for walking, jogging, or pushing a stroller.

Dog Policy: Leashed dogs are welcome, so the park is dog-friendly place where you can enjoy a day out with your furry friend.

Freestone Railroad and Mini Amusement Park

The Freestone Railroad is one of the highlights of the park. The little train offers a fun ride for children and families, looping through parts of the park and giving riders a scenic view.

In addition to the train, the mini amusement park features several rides, like a carousel and small Ferris wheel. This was closed when we went and under construction and we’ll update.

We found out the amusement park is owned by and operated privately and seperate from the city.

Rides are typically around $2–$4 each, making them affordable fun for families. Check the park’s website or call ahead to confirm ride hours and availability, as they can be seasonal.
