here’s our Comfort Inn Sea World in San Diego review, as a family traveling with toddlers.
Or maybe you are considering staying at a hotel near Seaworld San Diego?
We stayed at the Comfort Inn at Sea World in San Diego as a family of four (two toddlers and two adults) in mid-June 2024 for a mini trip to Sesame World.
We decided on Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego because it was close to the ocean, airport, downtown San Diego, Sesame Place in San Diego, and SeaWorld San Diego. We ultimately decided not to go to Seaworld but included some helpful FAQs on what we learned.
We travel frequently and wanted to share our firsthand experience as a family so you can plan and know what to expect, especially when traveling with kids.
We looked at 50+ hotels and narrowed things down based on our budget, traveling with kids, parking, location, and breakfast because it can get very pricey in San Diego, California. If you’re in a hurry, skip to the bottom for a full review.
Comfort Inn Sea World San Diego Review: Information & Check-in Ratting: 5/5
Location:
3880 Greenwood St.,
San Diego, CA, 92110

It is a small Inn Choice hotel with renovation and decent amount rooms. We felt we picked an excellent time to travel to San Diego!
It was in the upper 70s and sunny. Escaping the Phoenix, AZ, heat (109 plus degrees) was pleasant. Check-in was a breeze. We could not check in early (before 3:00 pm) and had to return, but the process was standard, with ID and Payment on file.
It’s worth noting that the Comfort Inn Sea World San Diego does not have a pool. Total cost for our stay: $542.00 rounded included taxes for (4 days 3 nights Sat – Tuesday with Sat $199 nightly rate) this was good for us and within budget considering we booked the hotel the same week.
Comfort Inn Sea World San Diego: Location Rating: 4/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Comfort Inn Sea World San Diego is tucked away but only 9 minutes from the San Diego International Airport, 15 minutes from Sea World and downtown San Diego, and about 30 minutes from Sesame Place.
It’s near many stores, including grocery and retail, along with Starbucks and another eatery (a very busty location). Traffic was decent (we stayed from Saturday – to Tuesday), and we had no issues.
Comfort Inn San Diego: Parking Rating: 3/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you have a vehicle, you will be issued a paper permit to display inside your car for the entire stay. Parking is limited to one vehicle per room.
The spaces were very tight—we had two car seats, and it was a challenge no matter if we parked forward or behind in a small Toyota Corolla. Also, there is only one side with parking slots and under the garage parking, which was closed at the time we stayed at the hotel.
Breakfast Rating 2/5
⭐️⭐️

Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego offers a complimentary continental breakfast. While we selected this place to provide complimentary breakfast, we could not eat many of the items and made it work.
We at least thought they would have oatmeal. But nope, they did have eggs, waffles (self-made), bead, a few oranges, cereal fruit loops, corn, cornflakes, sausage, coffee, yogurt, peanut butter, orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, water, blueberry muffins, bagels, and milk.
They did not have dairy-free milk options, and I asked for them and made a recommendation, but the hotel could not accommodate us during our stay. Fortunately, a grocery store was nearby, so we picked up some fresh fruit and soy milk and ate what we could. This wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but we wanted to make sure to share.
Gym Rating 5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Although small, the newly renovated gym had a few machines and weights, a large mirror, clean towels, disinfecting wipes, and a water filtration station inside.
Comfort Inn Sea World San Diego Restaurants Review: Vegan Restaurants and Dining
There were plenty of dining options nearby; we ordered dinner at a few vegan places. These places were less than 15 minutes away and within walking distance of the hotel but near a busy intersection.
Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego Review: Rooms 5/5

The rooms at Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego were spotless. Each room had a TV, coffee maker, towels, mini refrigerator, plastic cups, iron, ironing board, and microwave. We opted for daily room service.
Our TV was not working correctly, so they agreed to switch us to a better room hassle-free. The beds were comfortable and perfect for me (we went while I was in my 3rd pregnancy). This is a photo of our room two queen size comfy beds!
Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego Review: Overall, we give this place a rating of 4/5
For us, Comfort Inn Seaworld San Diego met our expectations in cleanliness and exceeded our expectations based on the low star ratings. We stayed four days and three nights (Sat – Tuesday.
Here’s a snippet of the cost breakdown. The hotel location was about x drive on a Sunday to Sesame Place in San Diego. The bottom line is that we can’t always go off of reviews because we may not have a choice for this hotel.
Here are some tips for traveling to Comfort Inn Seaword with kids:
Call the hotel to see if the room is ready
